We recently made a trip to Kincaid's. This burger was rated the 5th best burger in the United States of America. Upon hearing this I knew I had to go check them out. I consider myself a burger man. Having eaten many a burger in my day, I think I know a thing or two about the beefy greasy joy in a bun called a hamburger. Going there made me ponder what my top five burgers would be, so...
Here is my list of the top five burgers in this wonderful nation:
#5 Fatburger
#4 Braum's
Most people go to Braums for a shake or banana split. I frequent this establishment for the part where they slaughter the cow, not milk it. These burgers are greasy, served hot, and come with the freshest tomatoes and lettuce. The price is not too bad, about 7 bucks for the combo.
#3 Fabulous 50's
I just recently discovered this little gem. Some might call it a hole in the wall type of place. They have the dining room all decked out 50's style and serve the kids meal in a paper 54' T-Bird. They let you put all the toppings on almost like Fuddruckers but on a smaller scale. Kids will walk away with a free helium balloon, or baboon depending on your three year old's pronunciation. Price is about $7 for the combo.
#2 In-N-Out Burger
I love this place, I wish they had them here in the Lone Star State. Right now they are only in California, Nevada, and Arizona. If you live in any of those states consider yourself lucky. These burgers are juicy, beefy but not too beefy, and check out the web site for the secret menu. The price is about the same as everywhere else, around 7 USD.
#1 Hires Big H
Located in Salt Lake City this place is more of an institution than just an ordinary burger joint. This is usually my first stop when I get to Salt Lake. In fact my family has made many 1200 mile road trips just for the scrumditilyumptiousness of the Big H, oh yeah, and to visit family, go to weddings, and all that good stuff. The burger patty is strategically placed between the top and bottom portions of a home made bun. The secret Hires fry sauce is a commodity often found on the black markets in southeast asia. I have no idea what the price is because lets be honest, I would pay 50 bucks just to have one right now.
Honorable Mentions:
Kincaid's: Price was high, don't like to share a tables, but very beefy, and really good.
Artic Circle: Gotta love that fry sauce, black angus beef.
Whataburger: Who likes mustard?
