There was a major battle this week in the war against the yard. It was a victory for me. After getting a brand new back-pack blower I was able to bag 13 bags of old rotten dead leaves. I am pretty sure some of them have been hiding under the bushes (now gone, see previous post) for years. We have a huge cottonwood tree in the back and it drops a lot of leaves not to mention the live oaks are finally dropping their leaves too. In total we have one magnolia tree, the big cottonwood tree, and 5 live oaks, and if that were'nt enough leaves I am pretty darn sure that my house is positioned just so that all my neighbors leaves blow into my yard. So the purchase of the blower made it ease to blow the leaves into piles and get them bagged. There is still some to go, but not as bad as it was. I was also able to get some southern turf builder down today and get the lawn watered (thanks to Dad for the fertilizer and spreader). I am hoping to use some birthday money to purchase a chain saw to get the stumps of the old bushes out, and to use for the triming and cutting down of some small trees that are right next to the fence and will be a problem if they get much bigger. The blower is really cool, even Stacie wanted to try it out.

Hmmm, if you run out of leaves, you can come do my yard! Actually, Thomas has been chopping down old dead trees in our back yard, now we have a mountain of chopped up trees.
